ADP Partners with American Heart Association to Expand CPR Training Nationwide

With over 10,000 cardiac arrests annually occurring in U.S. workplaces, ADP, a global human capital management technology provider, is partnering with the American Heart Association to enhance CPR education nationwide. By embedding Hands-Only CPR training within the ADP Mobile Solutions app, this initiative aims to equip millions of employees with essential lifesaving skills.

The Urgency of CPR Education in Workplaces

  • Cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, anytime, and immediate CPR can double or triple survival chances.

  • Seven in 10 Americans feel powerless to act during cardiac emergencies, according to the American Heart Association.

  • ADP, serving one in six U.S. workers, is leveraging technology to empower employees with accessible CPR training.

How ADP and the American Heart Association Are Making a Difference

  • The initiative offers a simple two-step training via the ADP Mobile Solutions app:

    • Watch a 60-second Hands-Only CPR video

    • Complete a short, four-question assessment

  • Upon completion, users earn a digital Nation of Lifesavers badge, recognizing their lifesaving commitment.

  • Since the pilot launch in Fall 2024, over 160,000 users have engaged with the training, with the potential reach of 14 million monthly app users.

In-Person Training and Broader Commitment

  • ADP is conducting in-person Hands-Only CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) training at 18 office locations nationwide.

  • More than 100 training sessions are planned through 2025 and early 2026 to educate associates on CPR and AED use.

  • ADP associates also participate in American Heart Association Heart Walk events to raise awareness and funds for heart health.

Importance of Hands-Only CPR and AED Access

  • Hands-Only CPR involves chest compressions without rescue breaths, effective for teens and adults during sudden cardiac arrest.

  • Immediate CPR and AED use can dramatically improve survival outcomes.

  • Currently, only half of workers can locate an AED in their workplace, highlighting the need for increased awareness.

ADP’s partnership with the American Heart Association reflects a strong commitment to saving lives through accessible CPR education and training. By combining technology with in-person learning, ADP is helping to build a stronger chain of survival in workplaces across the U.S., empowering millions of employees to act confidently in cardiac emergencies.
