Ascensus Names Jeri Hawthorne as Chief Human Resources Officer Amid Industry Transformation

Ascensus has appointed Jeri Hawthorne as its new Chief Human Resources Officer, effective immediately. Hawthorne will report to Ascensus Chair and CEO David Musto and be based at the company’s Dresher, Pennsylvania headquarters.

We are delighted to welcome Jeri Hawthorne to Ascensus at a time of significant transformation in our industry and across our company,” Musto said. “Her experience and perspective from leading organizations with a strong commitment to client and employee experience excellence will be enormously valuable as we evolve the scale, solutions, and culture of our business.”

A career HR executive with global experience

Hawthorne brings extensive HR leadership experience across multiple industries. She joins Ascensus from Aflac, where she served as Chief Human Resources Officer. Her prior roles include Head of HR for Campbell and Company, a privately held quantitative hedge fund, and Head of Talent and Leadership Development at Exelon, the largest energy parent company in the U.S. At Exelon, she led teams of business partners supporting the competitive energy business, Constellation.

Earlier in her career, Hawthorne held senior HR roles at T. Rowe Price and the U.S. Pharmacopeia, and gained international experience in human resources while working in Denmark for Novo Nordisk A/S.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Wheeling Jesuit University and a Master of Science from the University of Bath, UK.

Leadership transition

Hawthorne succeeds Amy Walker, who will remain with Ascensus through mid-September to support a smooth leadership transition.

With Hawthorne’s appointment, Ascensus signals a renewed focus on talent strategy, employee experience, and organizational culture, aiming to navigate a rapidly evolving HR and financial services landscape.
