The global hiring race just got tighter. G-P (Globalization Partners), long hailed as the leader in Employer of Record (EOR) services, has joined the Built on Workday partner program—an integration move designed to make international hiring less of a logistical nightmare.
Through the partnership, Workday customers will soon be able to hire, onboard, and manage talent in 180+ countries directly inside the Workday platform, powered by G-P’s AI-driven global employment solutions. That includes the company’s flagship EOR product and its AI HR agent, G-P Gia.
Why It Matters
Global hiring remains a costly, compliance-heavy puzzle. Companies expanding abroad often face red tape: setting up entities, managing payroll in multiple currencies, staying compliant with local labor laws. EOR providers like G-P already help organizations sidestep that complexity, but now with Workday baked in, the process shrinks from multi-system juggling to a single streamlined workflow.
As Lori McNally, G-P’s SVP of Partners, put it: “The future of global work just became more accessible. G-P EOR and G-P Gia will transform how organizations build and manage global teams, removing friction and making global employment faster, smarter and more compliant.”
Under the Hood: Developer-First and AI-Driven
At the heart of this integration is the G-P Developer Platform, built with APIs, embeddable widgets, and a serverless, event-driven architecture. The platform automates the flow of workforce data between Workday and G-P, cutting down on repetitive manual updates and reducing errors—a pain point HR and finance teams know all too well.
Updates made in Workday—think employee demographics, salary, or payslip details—will now sync automatically to G-P. That’s a leap toward real-time compliance and efficiency, a necessity for HR leaders overseeing distributed teams.
Meet G-P Gia: The AI HR Sidekick
The integration doesn’t just handle paperwork. G-P is also plugging G-P Gia, its AI-powered HR assistant, into the mix. Gia is designed to answer complex HR questions, generate contracts and employee handbooks, and analyze compensation benchmarks across 50 countries and all 50 U.S. states. Crucially, it’s always updated with the latest compliance standards—something few human HR teams can claim with confidence.
Workday’s Expanding Marketplace
For Workday, G-P’s arrival underscores how the Built on Workday program is evolving into more than just an app marketplace. By enabling partners to build, deploy, and deliver integrated apps to Workday’s customer base, the ecosystem becomes a one-stop hub for HR and finance leaders wrestling with increasingly global, always-on workforces.
The Bigger Picture
The timing is no accident. With hybrid work and borderless hiring accelerating post-pandemic, rivals like Deel, Remote, and Papaya Global are all racing to pair global EOR with AI-powered compliance tools. By embedding itself directly into Workday, G-P is betting that tight integration—not just breadth of coverage—will be the deciding factor in who wins the global HR tech arms race.
