Jobright Launches AI Agent to Automate the Grind of Job Hunting
With $3.2M in fresh funding, the platform aims to replace job boards with a “searchless” job search experience
Job hunting has always been a hustle. But Jobright, an AI-native job platform trusted by more than 520,000 professionals, wants to make the process nearly hands-free. Today, the company launched Jobright Agent, an AI career assistant that searches, customizes, and submits applications automatically—freeing users from the black hole of job boards.
It’s not just a new feature; it’s a total rewrite of how people land jobs. Jobright Agent matches candidates to open roles, tailors recruiter-ready applications, and even submits them on their behalf—cutting job search time by 80% and doubling interview rates, according to early data.
The launch comes alongside a $3.2 million funding round led by Translink Capital, with backing from HR Tech Investments, the venture arm of Indeed—an endorsement that signals real momentum in a space long overdue for disruption.
Beyond Job Boards: A New Job Search Model
If traditional job boards are digital bulletin boards, Jobright Agent is a full-service concierge.
“For decades, job boards made you work. Now, our agent works for you,” said Eric Cheng, Co-founder and CEO of Jobright. “The future of job search is searchless.”
Jobright Agent tackles four core inefficiencies in the traditional job hunt:
-
Search to Match: Instead of dumping thousands of listings on users, the agent intelligently matches candidates based on skills, goals, and context.
-
Manual to Automated: It crafts and submits tailored applications automatically—no more resume copy-paste marathons.
-
One-Way to Two-Way Fit: The system assesses mutual fit, aiming to improve offer rates for both candidates and employers.
-
Passive to Proactive: It continuously hunts for relevant opportunities, removing the need for daily check-ins or missed openings.
That’s not a tweak; it’s a paradigm shift. And it puts Jobright in a unique position to challenge incumbents like Indeed (ironically now an investor), LinkedIn, and ZipRecruiter—not just with better UI or smarter filters, but with a fundamentally different premise: job search should work for you, not the other way around.
Market Timing and Investor Confidence
The timing couldn’t be better. The job market has grown more complex, with remote work, niche roles, and a flood of applicants making it harder than ever for candidates to stand out—or even get seen. At the same time, companies are grappling with AI-driven hiring systems and overwhelmed recruiting pipelines.
Jobright is betting that AI can bridge both sides.
“Jobright is built on the fundamental premise that there’s a better way to do job search in the AI age,” said Kelvin Mu, Partner at Translink Capital. “They didn’t retrofit AI onto yesterday’s job boards—they built an agent-first platform from scratch.”
That’s likely why the platform has grown 30× year-over-year, even before this funding. The new capital will go toward scaling Jobright’s AI infrastructure, refining its recommendation engine, and expanding its global footprint. The company is also developing an employer-facing product to connect hiring teams with pre-qualified talent—another step toward a two-sided, intelligent job marketplace.
What This Means for the Industry
While LinkedIn and Indeed remain the dominant players, most job seekers will tell you those platforms feel bloated and outdated—more inbox chaos than career clarity. Jobright joins a new wave of AI-first platforms like Wade & Wendy, SeekOut, and Hiretual, but distinguishes itself with its fully autonomous agent approach.
Instead of offering a smarter search bar, it offers a replacement for search entirely.
The big question now is whether employers—many still bogged down in legacy ATS systems—are ready to meet this new kind of candidate flow. If Jobright’s agent can deliver on both volume and quality, it may not matter. The candidates will show up, and the employers will follow.
