Bucks County Community College Launches Micro-Internship Program

Bucks County Community College (BCCC) has launched a new micro-internship initiative to connect students with local businesses through short-term, paid professional experiences. Partnering with Parker Dewey, a leader in micro-internships, the college aims to provide students with hands-on learning while supporting the growth of small businesses in Bucks County.

What Are Micro-Internships?

  • Short-term, paid work experiences designed to provide students with real-world exposure.
  • Students work on specific, meaningful projects that help businesses address immediate needs.
  • Companies gain cost-effective, skilled talent without long-term hiring commitments.

    • Gain practical, hands-on experience to boost employability.
    • Build professional networks and enhance resumes.
    • Apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges.
  • For Businesses:
    • Access to motivated, skilled students for project-based work.
    • Cost-effective way to address business challenges.
    • Supports regional workforce development.

Leadership & Community Impact

“This partnership strengthens the connection between our students and the local economy,” said BCCC President & CEO Patrick M. Jones. “It’s another way Bucks County Community College contributes to regional workforce growth and supports economic development.”

The program is open to all majors, providing students and recent graduates with valuable career-building opportunities.

Program Launch & Funding

The initiative was made possible by a generous donation from Sean and Melanie Cohen. Mr. Cohen serves on the Bucks County Community College Foundation Board, supporting efforts to expand career-readiness programs for students.

BCCC’s micro-internship program offers a win-win opportunity for students and businesses alike. By embracing flexible, project-based work, the college is preparing students for future careers while helping small businesses thrive.
