TeamOhana Secures $7.5M in Seed Funding to Scale AI-Powered Workforce Planning

TeamOhana, an innovative software platform designed to unite Finance, HR, and Talent teams, has raised $7.5 million in seed funding. This round, led by Lerer Hippeau and Collide Capital with participation from Sierra Ventures and Recall Capital, brings TeamOhana’s total funding to over $11.5 million, including an earlier $4 million pre-seed round in October 2022.

This capital injection will fuel the scaling of TeamOhana’s Agentic AI workforce planning platform, currently in beta, which aims to revolutionize how organizations approach headcount planning and compensation management.

“Companies today struggle with chaotic, spreadsheet-driven headcount planning, leading to costly mistakes,” said Tushar Makhija, co-founder and CEO of TeamOhana. “TeamOhana is pioneering the category of ‘Collaborative Workforce Intelligence,’ uniting finance, talent, and hiring teams on one real-time platform. We’re not just improving old processes. We’re building a new way forward.”

Transforming Workforce Planning with AI

Traditional workforce planning processes are fragmented and rely heavily on spreadsheets, creating inefficiencies and increasing the risk of costly errors. TeamOhana’s platform addresses this gap by integrating key systems FP&A, HRIS, ATS, and payroll into one unified platform, simplifying and streamlining the entire headcount planning and compensation process.

Key platform features include:

  • Collaborative Workforce Intelligence: Real-time data shared across departments for smarter decisions.

  • Agentic AI: Autonomous agents capable of identifying workforce anomalies, presenting solutions, and automating actions.

  • Forecast Accuracy: Cutting variance in forecasts by up to 50% while driving faster and more precise decision-making.

Customer Impact and ROI

TeamOhana’s platform is already making significant strides in improving workforce planning efficiency for its customers. Several organizations have seen substantial ROI from using TeamOhana’s solution:

  • SeatGeek: Reduced workforce management time by 23 hours a week, saved a full-time hire, and avoided $200,000 in overspend.

  • IonQ: Reduced low-value work by 75%, tripled hiring velocity, and saved approximately $594,000 annually.

  • Metronet: Saved the equivalent of three full-time employees and achieved a 7X ROI.

“There was a big unlock for us, a very high ROI of bringing on this platform that has infinite scalability,” said Teddy Collins, VP of Corporate Finance at SeatGeek.

The Future of Workforce Planning

With the new funding, TeamOhana is set to expand its capabilities, focusing on scaling its Agentic AI platform and launching additional products, such as:

  • Recruiter and Sales Capacity Planning: Tailoring headcount strategies to sales and recruitment teams.

  • Reorganization Management: Simplifying the process of managing company restructuring.

TeamOhana is already managing $6 billion in workforce spend across 30,000+ employees, and with the backing of investors and a strong product roadmap, it is poised to redefine workforce management for businesses of all sizes.

“TeamOhana is building the first-of-its-kind AI operating system for headcount management,” said Makhija. “The next leap forward isn’t more dashboards. It’s autonomous agents that can identify anomalies, present you with the best solutions, and implement the actions you select.”

Investor Confidence in TeamOhana

With support from leading venture capital firms, Lerer Hippeau and Collide Capital, TeamOhana’s groundbreaking vision for Collaborative Workforce Intelligence has garnered significant attention.

“TeamOhana is already a really robust platform. But what gets me really excited is what they’re going to be able to do with AI,” said Andrea Hippeau, Partner at Lerer Hippeau.

TeamOhana’s recent funding success positions the company as a leader in the next wave of workforce management and planning. By harnessing AI to eliminate manual workflows and connect fragmented systems, TeamOhana is helping companies navigate their most complex workforce challenges while boosting capital efficiency and accelerating growth.
