Pearson and ServiceNow Join Forces to Transform Workforce Development in the Age of AI

Pearson, the world’s lifelong learning company, and ServiceNow, the AI platform for business transformation, today announced a global collaboration aimed at supercharging workforce development and enhancing employee experiences in the age of AI. In the first phase of this multi-year partnership, ServiceNow will work with Pearson on research and insights analyzing how emerging technology will impact the global workforce. The collaboration will utilize Credly by Pearson to issue accreditation and track skills development, while Pearson will leverage ServiceNow’s AI-powered Now Platform to improve employee productivity, efficiency, and talent retention.

The Need for Reskilling

According to the World Economic Forum, an estimated one billion people will need reskilling by 2030. As AI technologies rapidly transform economies and societies, employees and organizations must develop technology skills to prepare for the future of work and address the growing skills gap. This three-year partnership is rooted in a shared commitment between ServiceNow and Pearson to help close this gap, increase productivity, drive competitiveness, and support individual progress.

Collaborative Efforts

In the initial phase of their collaboration, ServiceNow and Pearson plan to undertake the following initiatives:

  • Research Collaboration: Analyzing the impact of emerging technologies on the global workforce, including affected jobs, automated skills, in-demand roles, and strategies for reskilling workforces.
  • Integration of Credly: ServiceNow will integrate Pearson’s Credly solution into its platform to transform the issuance of accreditation, track skills development, and facilitate career acceleration.
  • Enhanced Learning Experiences: Pearson will expand its use of the ServiceNow platform to create enriching learning experiences at scale, utilizing Now Assist GenAI capabilities to boost employee productivity and efficiency.
  • Streamlined Processes: By employing ServiceNow’s Source-to-Pay Operations, Pearson aims to simplify the supplier onboarding process, enhancing overall employee experiences.

Vision for the Future

Throughout the partnership, Pearson and ServiceNow will continue to collaborate on technology and processes that enhance workforce productivity, agility, and adaptability while improving employee engagement, satisfaction, and career opportunities.

“AI and technology are advancing at an astonishing rate, and we need learning and skills development to keep pace. This collaboration lays the groundwork for addressing these challenges and unlocking significant value across organizations,” stated Vishaal Gupta, President of Workforce Skills at Pearson.

Jayney Howson, Senior Vice President of Global Learning and Development at ServiceNow, added, “As AI influences the global economy and drives workforce transformation, our collaboration with Pearson will help us attract and nurture top talent, fostering an ecosystem of future-ready individuals in an AI-driven world.”

Today’s announcement reflects Pearson’s ongoing strategic commitment to the enterprise and workforce skills market. Pearson’s Workforce Skills division is dedicated to preparing individuals and organizations for the future of work, providing high-demand skills and solutions for strategic workforce planning, digital credentialing, role assessments, and GED education.
