ActivTrak CEO Heidi Farris Named Top HR Software Executive of 2025

ActivTrak, a leader in workforce analytics, announced today that CEO Heidi Farris has been named one of The Software Report’s Top 25 HR Software Executives of 2025. The annual ranking recognizes executives driving innovation, measurable impact, and strategic growth in HR technology.

Farris, who also serves on ActivTrak’s board, has steered the company through a remarkable expansion, achieving 10X revenue growth and reaching nearly $60 million in annual recurring revenue. Under her leadership, ActivTrak has solidified its position in a competitive workforce analytics market increasingly dominated by data-driven performance tools.

Before joining ActivTrak, Farris held senior roles at Idera, where she orchestrated the acquisition and integration of 12 companies in five years, boosting the company’s valuation from $250 million to $1.1 billion. She has also guided four PE-backed tech startups through successful exits, from IPOs to recapitalizations, and currently sits on the board of AppSignal while serving as an Operating Advisor at Elsewhere Partners.

“Business leaders need accurate workforce insights to make informed decisions and unlock greater value from their investments,” Farris said. “At ActivTrak, our goal is to deliver innovation that helps customers lead with clarity, improve performance and achieve lasting results. This recognition alongside such inspiring leaders underscores the impact of our mission and the dedication of our team.”

Chris Pacitti, Founder and Partner at Elsewhere Partners, praised Farris’ leadership, saying, “Her vision and ability to execute in a space undergoing rapid innovation and investment have fueled the company’s growth and strengthened its role as a market leader in workforce analytics.”

The Software Report evaluated awardees based on business achievements, innovation delivered by their teams, and overall influence on the human capital management sector. Farris’ recognition highlights not just her personal leadership but also the growing importance of analytics-driven HR solutions in optimizing workforce performance across industries.

As HR technology continues to evolve, leaders like Farris are shaping the tools companies rely on to manage talent, drive productivity, and make smarter workforce decisions. With market interest in employee analytics surging, ActivTrak’s growth trajectory and strategic focus position it as a company to watch in the coming years.
