Greenhouse’s Dream Job Feature Named One of TIME’s Best Inventions 2025

Greenhouse, a leading hiring platform, has scored a major accolade: its Dream Job feature was named to TIME’s Best Inventions 2025, a list spotlighting 300 innovations reshaping daily life.

Launched in June 2025, Dream Job gives job seekers a competitive edge by allowing them to designate one application per month as their top choice. Unlike standard application tools that prioritize volume, Dream Job helps recruiters and hiring managers identify high-intent, enthusiastic candidates—those most likely to move quickly through the hiring process. In fact, candidates using the feature reportedly progress through hiring four times faster than others and get hired sooner.

How Dream Job Works

Dream Job is integrated into MyGreenhouse, Greenhouse’s candidate hub offering real-time updates, application tracking, and alerts about opportunities aligned with each user’s experience. Since its launch in April 2025, more than 1.5 million job seekers and 6,500 companies, including Everlane, Flexport, Guild, Huntress, and NPR, have joined MyGreenhouse.

“The job market today is fundamentally broken; candidates feel like they’re shouting into a void, while recruiters are overwhelmed,” said Daniel Chait, co-founder and CEO of Greenhouse. “Dream Job lets candidates tag their top choice, helping recruiters zero in on high-likelihood hires. We’re honored to be recognized by TIME and remain committed to making hiring more human and effective.”

TIME Recognition Criteria

TIME’s annual Best Inventions list evaluates nominees on originality, efficacy, ambition, and impact. For 2025, editors prioritized solutions addressing rapidly growing fields such as healthcare and AI. Dream Job stood out for redefining the candidate experience and streamlining hiring for companies navigating a hyper-competitive talent market.

Why It Matters

By giving candidates a way to signal genuine interest and enthusiasm, Dream Job tackles one of the biggest pain points in recruitment: signal-to-noise ratio. Recruiters often sift through hundreds of applications with limited insight into which candidates are truly motivated. Dream Job flips the script, letting high-intent applicants rise to the top.

Job seekers can access Dream Job for free by creating a MyGreenhouse account, while companies interested in joining the hiring network can learn more on Greenhouse’s website.
