Energage, the HR technology company behind the Top Workplaces recognition program, is expanding its reach in Utah through a new partnership with the Salt Lake Business Journal, published by City Journals. The collaboration will debut a new edition of Utah Top Workplaces in 2026—giving companies across the state a fresh opportunity to earn credible recognition for outstanding workplace culture.
This marks a shift in Utah’s Top Workplaces landscape. Since 2014, the awards were presented by The Salt Lake Tribune. Starting in 2026, City Journals—which publishes the Salt Lake Business Journal and 18 local community papers—will take the lead in honoring Utah’s most employee-centric organizations.

A Broader Platform for Recognition
Nominations for the 2026 Utah Top Workplaces awards are open through May, with winners set to be announced in fall 2026. Eligible organizations include public, private, nonprofit, and government employers with at least 35 employees. Participation is free—no cost to nominate, survey, or win.
As in all Top Workplaces programs, winners are selected based entirely on confidential employee feedback via the Energage Workplace Survey. The survey measures culture drivers such as engagement, alignment, and leadership—factors scientifically linked to organizational success. Energage has refined this model using data from millions of employees across more than 70,000 organizations.
