Senior executive with deep expertise in human resources for technology companies joins Elastic
Elastic, the company behind Elasticsearch®, today announced the appointment of Joanna Daly as chief human resources officer (CHRO) effective July 18, 2023. Reporting to Elastic CEO Ash Kulkarni, Daly will be responsible for Elastic’s human resources (HR) strategy and operations, talent management, and compensation and benefits, as Elastic continues to build on its global reputation as the leading search platform.
Daly has more than 20 years of global HR experience, including HR leadership roles in IBM’s consulting and technology businesses and the company’s compensation and talent organizations. As the head of the Elastic HR team, Daly’s focus will be on supporting scalable growth of the company, building on the existing strong foundation.

Most recently, Daly served as vice president, Total Rewards at IBM, where she held global responsibility for the design and delivery of all compensation and benefits programs in addition to Corporate Health and Safety for their 300,000 employees. Daly has a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and a Master of Business Administration, both from Syracuse University.
