eSkilled Brings AI-Powered Reporting to Australian RTO Software

eSkilled has launched RTO Analytics & AI Reporting, bringing natural-language reporting, live operational analytics and interactive dashboards into its student and learning management platform for Australian Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). The release is designed to reduce reliance on spreadsheets and specialist reporting skills while giving education providers a faster way to interrogate student, compliance, financial and workforce data.

For vocational education providers, having large volumes of operational data is only useful if staff can turn that information into decisions quickly.

That is the problem eSkilled is targeting with its new RTO Analytics & AI Reporting capability, which embeds AI-powered reporting and analytics directly into its RTO software rather than requiring users to export information into separate spreadsheets or reporting systems.

The Australian technology provider says the new functionality gives RTO staff access to live operational insights, interactive dashboards and AI-generated reports within its existing student and learning management environment.

The move reflects a broader shift in enterprise software: analytics is increasingly moving from specialist business intelligence teams toward natural-language interfaces that allow non-technical employees to query business data themselves.

Turning RTO Data Into a Conversational Interface

The new reporting system covers 29 reportable entities and more than 650 reportable fields, spanning areas such as students, enrolments, trainers, finance, attendance, quality management, risk, continuous improvement and AVETMISS data.

Users can create reports through a conventional point-and-click interface or describe what they need in plain English.

For example, an administrator could ask which trainers have credentials expiring within the next 90 days, identify invoices that have remained unpaid for more than 30 days or compare withdrawal rates across qualifications.

The system then selects relevant data, applies filters, creates visualisations and generates a configured report.

That changes the reporting workflow from “find the data, export it, manipulate it and build the report” to “ask a business question and receive an analysis.”

For smaller RTOs in particular, the distinction could matter because reporting responsibilities often sit with staff who may not have dedicated data-analysis expertise.

AI Chat Moves Beyond Static Dashboards

eSkilled is also introducing AI Chat with Your Data, allowing employees to ask questions about operational information using natural language.

Rather than navigating a collection of predefined dashboards, users can interact directly with live student management system data.

Questions around attendance, completion rates, financial performance, compliance activity and quality management can be answered through the conversational interface.

This represents a more significant change than simply adding AI-generated charts.

Traditional dashboards tell users what metrics are available and require them to interpret those metrics. A conversational analytics layer allows employees to begin with a question and use the system to locate the relevant information.

Giving employees conversational access to business data also introduces an important technology challenge: who is allowed to see what?

eSkilled says its AI reporting capabilities inherit existing user permissions within the RTO software.

The company also says AI responses are generated using sanitised, permission-controlled data, while audit logging records reporting and AI activity.

Those controls are important because natural-language interfaces can make sensitive information easier to retrieve.

A finance employee asking for overdue invoices should not automatically gain access to student information, while an administrator responsible for compliance may require access to a different dataset.

Embedding permissioning into the analytics architecture therefore becomes as important as the AI itself.
