Moomoo Singapore Opens Bugis Hub, Launches Moo Academy to Boost Retail Investor Education

Retail investing platform Moomoo Singapore is expanding its physical footprint and doubling down on investor education with the launch of a new boutique and financial learning hub in Bugis, Singapore.

The company’s third physical location in the city-state will serve as more than a storefront. Anchored by the newly introduced Moo Academy, the space is designed to function as a dedicated financial education center aimed at helping retail investors build confidence and knowledge in increasingly complex global markets.

The opening also coincides with a new strategic partnership between Moomoo Singapore and the Securities Investors Association (Singapore) (SIAS), a nonprofit investor advocacy group focused on promoting responsible investing and financial literacy.

Together, the two organizations plan to expand education programs, workshops, and community engagement initiatives aimed at strengthening the country’s retail investor base.

From Trading App to Investor Learning Ecosystem

The Bugis hub marks Moomoo Singapore’s third physical location, following earlier stores at 313@Somerset and Jem.

While many fintech platforms operate entirely online, Moomoo is taking a hybrid approach—combining digital trading tools with in-person learning environments.

According to Jeyson Ng, CEO-designate of Moomoo Singapore, the goal is to complement the platform’s digital experience with real-world engagement opportunities.

“Singapore has one of the most dynamic retail investor communities in the region, and we see strong demand for more meaningful ways for investors to learn and engage with the markets,” Ng said.

Visitors to the Bugis location will be able to receive hands-on guidance with the Moomoo trading platform, attend educational workshops, and connect with other investors.

The launch reflects a growing trend across fintech: platforms are increasingly investing in education and community-building as retail participation in financial markets continues to rise.

Moo Academy: Structured Investor Education

At the center of the Bugis hub is Moo Academy, a formalized education program designed to scale the company’s existing financial literacy initiatives.

The academy will offer structured learning opportunities covering topics such as market fundamentals, trading strategies, portfolio management, and risk awareness. Programming will include workshops, expert-led sessions, and community events designed for investors at different experience levels.

Some educational sessions organized by SIAS will also be hosted at the hub, expanding access to structured financial learning for Singapore’s growing investor population.

For Moomoo, the initiative represents a natural extension of its broader education strategy. The company has previously organized investor festivals, thematic financial summits, online courses, and expert-led webinars to help retail traders better understand market dynamics.

Partnership With SIAS Strengthens Investor Outreach

The collaboration with SIAS is intended to deepen engagement with Singapore’s retail investing community.

Under the partnership agreement, both organizations will jointly deliver investment literacy programs, educational workshops, and community outreach initiatives. The goal is to cultivate a larger base of knowledgeable retail investors while encouraging responsible market participation.

Ang Hao Yao, Vice President of SIAS, said the partnership will help expand the organization’s educational reach.

“Investment literacy is essential for investors to make informed decisions and participate successfully in the markets,” he said, noting that the collaboration will provide more opportunities for investors to develop a deeper understanding of financial markets.

Strengthening Singapore’s Capital Markets Ecosystem

Beyond individual investor education, the initiative is also intended to support the broader capital markets ecosystem in Singapore.

Moomoo’s growing retail investor community provides a platform that connects individual investors with listed companies and market stakeholders. The company aims to use that network to strengthen engagement between investors and businesses listed on the Singapore exchange.

Industry leaders say these connections can improve market transparency and support stronger price discovery—two factors that help maintain a healthy and vibrant stock market.

Ng Yao Loong, Head of Equities at SGX Group, noted that experiential learning is increasingly important in investor education.

“In today’s environment, the opportunity lies in capturing investor attention and engaging them in ways that bring investing concepts to life,” he said.

A Growing Focus on Retail Investor Education

The move reflects a broader shift across global financial markets: retail investors are becoming a larger and more influential segment of trading activity.

In the wake of pandemic-era market participation surges, financial platforms, regulators, and exchanges are placing greater emphasis on investor education to ensure that new market participants understand both the opportunities and risks involved.

For fintech platforms like Moomoo, education has become both a strategic differentiator and a long-term investment in market sustainability.

By combining physical community spaces, digital trading tools, and structured education programs, Moomoo Singapore is betting that the future of retail investing will involve more than just apps—it will require accessible learning ecosystems that help investors navigate increasingly sophisticated financial markets.
