Greenhouse Tops G2’s ATS Rankings – Again – and Launches “Dream Job” to Fix Application Fatigue

Greenhouse Ranks #1 on G2’s ATS Grid and Tackles the Application Overload with ‘Dream Job’

Greenhouse, the hiring platform used by more than 7,500 companies, just cemented its spot at the top of the applicant tracking system (ATS) market—again. In G2’s Summer 2025 Grid Reports, Greenhouse took the #1 position across multiple categories, including Enterprise, Mid-Market, and EMEA, while securing top-three rankings in an impressive 87 reports overall.

And the company isn’t coasting on reputation alone. Alongside its top scores, Greenhouse also unveiled Dream Job, a new feature aimed at reversing what CEO Daniel Chait calls the “AI doom loop” of recruiting.

“It’s never been easier to apply for a job—and never harder to land one,” says Chait.

With Dream Job, candidates can mark one application per month as their top choice. That simple signal—intent—gives hiring teams insight into who’s serious, and helps quality candidates stand out from the mass of AI-generated resumes flooding inboxes.

The early numbers are promising:

  • 400,000+ candidates and 1,200+ companies have signed up

  • 24,000+ Dream Job applications submitted

  • Dream Job applicants move through initial reviews 3x faster (6 days vs. 19)

That kind of traction suggests Dream Job may do what countless sourcing tools haven’t—bring some signal back into the hiring noise.

G2 Ratings: Greenhouse by the Numbers

According to G2, Greenhouse earned:

  • 98% user satisfaction

  • 94% of users rating it 4 or 5 stars

  • 89% likely to recommend

  • 90% believe the platform is headed in the right direction

In total, Greenhouse was ranked #1 in 52 reports, dominating:

  • Grid® Report for Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)

  • Enterprise Grid® Report for ATS

  • EMEA Regional Grid® Report for ATS

  • Mid-Market Grid® Report for ATS

That’s no small feat in a field crowded with competitors like iCIMS, Lever, and SmartRecruiters—all of which are also evolving their offerings in response to mounting pressure from AI, DEI expectations, and growing mid-market adoption.

Why It Matters

Greenhouse’s grip on the ATS market isn’t just about interface polish or brand recognition. It’s about structured hiring at scale—and customers across industries say the product delivers.

“From automated scheduling to centralized feedback, Greenhouse keeps everything organized and helps us move candidates quickly,” said Kriss Deas from an SMB client.

Others cite the platform’s machine learning innovations, robust integrations, and commitment to diversity-focused workflows as key advantages.

And unlike some platforms that tack on features in silos, Greenhouse seems to focus on end-to-end cohesion, offering everything from job posting and candidate sourcing to analytics and DEI-focused hiring templates in one centralized system.

Greenhouse’s Competitive Edge

The ATS space is in flux. Enterprise players are rethinking legacy tools. Mid-market companies are demanding more flexibility and insight. And candidates are growing frustrated with impersonal application experiences.

With the Dream Job rollout and its continued investment in AI-driven features, Greenhouse is positioning itself as the ATS that not only streamlines operations but also humanizes hiring—an increasingly rare balance.

“Greenhouse is committed to helping every company become great at hiring,” said Meredith Johnson, Chief Product Officer. “Dream Job and our AI-powered tools give both candidates and recruiters more clarity and efficiency.”

In short, Greenhouse is doing what few in HR tech are managing: evolving with urgency, scaling with precision, and staying deeply user-focused.
