Payroll just got a brain upgrade. Payslip, the global payroll automation platform, has unveiled PayrunIQ, a new AI-powered analytics tool that lets payroll teams query complex payrun data using natural language—no data science degree required.
Integrated into the company’s Payslip Alpha suite, PayrunIQ is already in use by big-name employers including Cloudera, Just Eat, Delivery Hero, Mango, and EQT. The company claims it can analyze data 60 times faster than traditional methods, reduce manual analysis by 99%, and save each analyst around six hours per month—no small feat in an industry obsessed with accuracy and deadlines.
From Pay Data to Payroll Intelligence
At its core, PayrunIQ transforms routine payroll operations into an intelligent data layer. Users can type simple questions like “Why did overtime costs spike in Germany last month?” or “Which regions had the highest bonus discrepancies?”—and the AI instantly surfaces insights or anomalies.
It’s a far cry from the spreadsheet slog that’s defined global payroll for decades. Payslip says the tool enables teams to detect errors early, accelerate month-end reconciliations, and make data-driven decisions faster—critical advantages when payroll deadlines are measured in hours, not days.
“AI isn’t an add-on—it’s central to how we help global payroll teams achieve accuracy, control, and speed at scale,” said Fidelma McGuirk, Payslip’s CEO and Founder. “PayrunIQ turns complex payrun data into clear, actionable intelligence.”
Riding the Payslip Alpha Momentum
PayrunIQ follows the successful launch of Payslip Alpha, the company’s broader AI suite designed to streamline payroll workflows for multinational employers. Together, the tools mark a major step in what McGuirk calls “practical, ethical, and impactful AI”—AI that doesn’t just automate, but augments human decision-making.
That human-AI partnership is increasingly valuable. Payslip now processes 1.5 million payslips annually, representing about €5 billion in salaries across 190+ countries. Its customers span fast-scaling tech firms and legacy multinationals alike—all of whom share the same challenge: making payroll smarter, faster, and more resilient in a data-saturated, compliance-heavy world.
The AI Payroll Revolution
The launch was announced at Payslip’s 2025 Customer Council, held October 15–16 at The K Club in Ireland—its largest to date. Themed “Control. Connect. Transform.”, the event gathered global payroll leaders to debate the sector’s digital future. The consensus: AI isn’t coming for payroll jobs—it’s coming for payroll’s complexity.
“Our customers are seeing firsthand how AI can simplify complexity and drive transformation,” McGuirk added. “The new Payslip Alpha features automate repetitive analysis, highlight potential issues before they escalate, and empower teams to make more confident, data-driven decisions.”
