TRIMEDX Appoints First Chief Data & AI Officer to Accelerate AI-Driven Healthcare Asset Management

TRIMEDX, a leader in clinical asset management and medical device cybersecurity, is betting big on artificial intelligence. The company has appointed Srilekha Akula as its first Chief Data & AI Officer, a move designed to strengthen its technology roadmap and expand the role of AI in optimizing healthcare operations.

Akula brings more than two decades of experience in AI, data strategy, and advanced technology leadership. She previously served as CTO at Alto, a digital pharmacy disruptor, and held senior roles at Optum, Amazon, and Google. Her work has spanned generative AI, AR/VR with computer vision, and API monetization, delivering measurable top- and bottom-line results.

“Srilekha brings deep expertise in data strategy and AI innovation,” said Neil de Crescenzo, CEO of TRIMEDX. “Her vision and experience will be instrumental in advancing our technology roadmap and unlocking new opportunities to empower health systems with smarter, data-driven decisions.”

What Akula Will Lead

As Chief Data & AI Officer, Akula will:

  • Define and deliver TRIMEDX’s data, AI, and real-time location services (RTLS) strategy

  • Ensure the ethical and secure use of data as a core business asset

  • Build predictive models to improve device performance and patient safety

  • Expand TRIMEDX’s proprietary data platform

  • Partner with health systems to optimize clinical asset investments and streamline operations

Why It Matters

Healthcare providers face mounting pressure to balance patient safety, operational efficiency, and financial sustainability. TRIMEDX’s bet on AI aims to reduce inefficiencies in clinical engineering and device management, turning massive data streams into actionable insights.

By embedding AI and RTLS into workflows, TRIMEDX says it can help hospitals:

  • Proactively maintain medical devices

  • Enhance patient safety by reducing downtime and device risks

  • Make smarter investment decisions on clinical assets

Looking Ahead

With Akula at the helm, TRIMEDX plans to scale its AI-driven capabilities, exploring emerging technologies that align with health systems’ evolving needs. The appointment also signals the company’s broader commitment to AI-enabled healthcare operations as the industry faces labor shortages, rising costs, and increasing demand for technology-driven solutions.
