Wenlay Ramps Up Hiring to Accelerate EIP-4844 Layer 2 Scaling Push

The blockchain infrastructure startup announced plans to recruit 50 senior engineers, developers, and cybersecurity experts  over the next three months as it races to enhance its Layer 2 scaling platform built on the EIP-4844 protocol.

The move is central to Wenlay’s mission to achieve “low fees and high throughput”, a combination that could help the company stand out in the crowded Layer 2 ecosystem dominated by players like Arbitrum, Optimism, and Base.

A Technical Sprint Toward Scalable, Affordable Blockchain

As the blockchain world wrestles with scalability bottlenecks and high gas fees, EIP-4844—also known as Proto-Danksharding—has emerged as a promising step forward. It introduces “Blob” data channels that dramatically reduce the cost of publishing data on Ethereum’s main chain, laying the groundwork for faster, cheaper Layer 2 transactions.

Wenlay’s incoming engineers will focus on deep development around Blob architecture and hybrid designs combining Rollups with state channels, an approach that could enable higher transaction throughput without compromising security.

If successful, Wenlay could deliver one of the most cost-efficient and developer-friendly scaling solutions in the market—an appealing prospect as the demand for DeFi, NFT, and AI-integrated blockchain applications surges.

Developer Ecosystem and Incentive Fund

Wenlay isn’t just building infrastructure; it’s building community. The company plans to roll out an expanded developer support suite, including improved SDKs and APIs for faster smart contract and cross-chain integration.

A new Developer Incentive Fund will reward teams launching innovative DeFi or NFT projects on Wenlay, offering a mix of technical support and token-based incentives. It’s a clear signal that Wenlay wants to become a go-to platform for developers looking to scale without the gas-price headaches of Layer 1 Ethereum.

Security First in a High-Speed World

The hiring blitz also underscores Wenlay’s focus on security and reliability—two pain points that have plagued many high-performance chains.

New cybersecurity hires will build multi-layer defense systems, conduct smart contract audits, and deploy real-time threat monitoring to protect user assets. Wenlay says it will also issue quarterly security reports to maintain transparency and community trust—an increasingly important differentiator in a market shaken by hacks and exploits.

Positioning for the Layer 2 Race

Industry analysts see Wenlay’s expansion as more than a recruitment drive—it’s a strategic acceleration in the global race for scalable blockchain infrastructure. By combining EIP-4844 optimizations, robust security, and strong developer incentives, Wenlay could position itself as a next-generation Layer 2 contender capable of competing on both cost and capability.

With blockchain networks scaling faster than ever—and Ethereum’s own roadmap pushing toward full sharding—Wenlay’s aggressive hiring and ecosystem investments could help it claim a place among the most efficient, high-concurrency Layer 2 solutions of the coming year.
