Singapore’s workforce is entering an era where artificial intelligence can augment—but not replace—human leadership. Recognizing this, NTUC LearningHub (NTUC LHUB) officially launched its Leadership Academy at the Human+ Symposium – Future Forward: Powered by People, Accelerated by AI, with Minister for Digital Development and Information Josephine Teo officiating the event.
The Academy aims to strengthen leadership excellence across industries by focusing on human capabilities that complement AI, such as emotional intelligence, judgment, and critical thinking. Alongside the launch, NTUC LHUB unveiled its “Human+ Championed by NTUC LearningHub” brand identity, emphasizing the organization’s commitment to human skills development in a technology-driven economy.
Courses Designed for Every Stage of Leadership
The Leadership Academy introduces nine new experiential, practice-oriented courses targeting leaders at all levels—from first-time managers to senior executives. The curriculum is anchored on three dimensions of leadership—cognitive, emotive, and behavioural—to equip leaders with practical tools to navigate complexity and drive team performance.
Key offerings include:
-
Early-stage managers: Three new courses developed with Harvard Business Impact (HBI), focusing on self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and people-centric influence.
-
Mid-level managers: Two courses on strategic change, team leadership, and organizational influence.
-
Coaching & Team Performance: Two courses aligned with International Coaching Federation (ICF) standards to enhance leadership capability and team outcomes.
-
Emotional Intelligence: Two courses for senior and mid-management levels based on the Genos Model of Emotional Intelligence, a globally recognized framework for assessing and developing emotionally intelligent leadership.
The Academy also offers four courses that lead to the Institute for Human Resource Professionals (IHRP) Responsible People Manager Role Badge, reinforcing responsible and fair leadership practices aligned with Singapore’s Workplace Fairness Act.
Collaborations to Build a Human-Centric Learning Ecosystem
The Leadership Academy is built on a collaborative learning ecosystem, leveraging partnerships with global and local organizations. NTUC LHUB formalized collaborations with HBI, TAFEP, and key employers including Aster Chemicals and Energy, City Developments Limited, SMRT Corporation, Yayasan MENDAKI, and Resorts World Sentosa.
These partnerships aim to co-develop leadership competency frameworks, identify emerging workforce development needs, and deliver training that aligns with industry best practices and local workforce insights.
Championing Human Skills in the AI Era
The newly unveiled Human+ brand underscores NTUC LHUB’s philosophy: even as AI and technology accelerate business processes, human judgment, empathy, and resilience remain at the core of effective leadership. The “+” in Human+ symbolizes exponential growth powered by human capability, continuous development, and lifelong learning.
“As technology and AI continue to reshape how we work, the ability to lead effectively remains fundamentally human,” said Jeremy Ong, CEO of NTUC LearningHub. “Leadership effectiveness will always rest on human capabilities such as judgment, empathy, emotional intelligence, and resilience. By integrating global best practices, local insights, and meaningful partnerships, the Leadership Academy equips leaders at every level with the skills needed to inspire teams, uphold trust, and navigate complexity in a fast-changing economy.”
The NTUC LHUB Leadership Academy positions Singaporean leaders to thrive in an AI-augmented workplace, emphasizing human skills as the key differentiator in leadership effectiveness, workforce engagement, and organizational success.
