Universal Technical Institute, Inc. (NYSE: UTI), a leading provider of workforce education programs, is accelerating its multi-year North Star strategy to tackle America’s shortage of skilled workers. The company announced the first three new campuses planned for fiscal 2027, covering both UTI and Concorde Career Colleges divisions.
The campuses include:
-
UTI-Salt Lake City – 113,000 sq. ft., serving 3,000+ students
-
Concorde-Houston – 45,000 sq. ft., serving up to 700 students
-
Concorde-Atlanta – 47,000+ sq. ft., serving up to 700 students
These locations are pending regulatory approvals and will support the company’s focus on transportation, skilled trades, electrical, energy, nursing, dental, diagnostic, and allied health programs.
“These new campuses represent another milestone as we strengthen our position as an American leader in training programs for skilled collar and healthcare workers,” said Jerome Grant, CEO of UTI. “By establishing a presence in Utah and increasing our footprint in Texas and Georgia, we will extend our impact and meet the unique demands of employers in these markets.”

Building the Future of Skilled Workforce Education
With the U.S. facing a persistent shortage of skilled labor, UTI and Concorde Career Colleges continue to position themselves as critical players in workforce development. By combining expanded physical campuses, industry-aligned programs, and strategic partnerships, the company aims to equip students with the skills demanded by employers across transportation, trades, energy, and healthcare sectors.
“Now that we have successfully met the federal criteria for Concorde’s post-acquisition growth a full year ahead of schedule, we are accelerating our strategic investments in healthcare training programs to deliver further shareholder value,” Grant added.
UTI’s campus expansion reflects a broader trend in higher education: hands-on, industry-specific training is increasingly vital to meet workforce demanNEs, and institutions that combine scale, innovation, and operational efficiency are poised to lead the way.
