Intelligent AF Launches AI Fluency Platform for Legal

Intelligent AF has launched an AI-fluency ecosystem for the legal industry that combines education, professional networking, career services, media and investment into a single membership, while acquiring TechnoCat to expand its media and influence offering.

The legal industry’s AI adoption is accelerating, but training, career development and professional networking have not necessarily evolved at the same pace. Intelligent AF is launching with an attempt to address that gap by combining those functions into a single AI-fluency ecosystem for legal professionals.

The company launched September 25 with five connected businesses covering education and certification, professional networking, career services, investment and media. It is initially targeting the legal sector before expanding into other professional-services industries. The company is backed by investors led by Mike Dalewitz of Greenwood Drive Investments, who becomes executive chairman, while legal technology executive Cat Casey serves as president.

The proposition is broader than another legal AI training platform. Intelligent AF is positioning AI fluency as an ongoing professional capability that connects learning with employment, networking and visibility.

Its five businesses are Informed AF, which handles education, certification and events; Connected AF, the community and professional network; Employed AF, covering coaching and career placement; Funded AF, the investment arm; and Amplified AF, which focuses on turning professional expertise into visibility and commercial opportunities.

The companies share one membership and audience. In the model Intelligent AF describes, a lawyer could complete an AI certification, meet employers through the community, develop a professional profile and eventually generate speaking, advisory or media opportunities through the same ecosystem.

That approach reflects a broader shift in the legal technology market. AI adoption is moving from experimentation toward everyday legal work, increasing the need for professionals to understand not only how to use AI tools but also how to evaluate outputs, manage risk and incorporate AI into established workflows.

The 2026 Wolters Kluwer Future Ready Lawyer report found that 92% of surveyed legal professionals use at least one AI tool, while 39% identified inadequate training as one of the top barriers to further AI implementation. Ethical and data-privacy concerns were also cited by 39% of respondents.

That combination of adoption and training pressure creates an opening for companies focused on AI fluency rather than software deployment alone.

The American Bar Association has also highlighted the gap between individual AI experimentation and organizational readiness. A 2026 legal industry report cited by the ABA found that 69% of legal professionals used generative AI for work, while 54% said their firms had provided no training on responsible generative AI use and had no current plans to do so.

For legal employers, the distinction matters. Giving lawyers access to ChatGPT, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot or specialized legal AI software does not automatically establish competency. Professionals still need to understand confidentiality, verification, hallucination risks, data handling and appropriate use cases.

That creates potential value for an ecosystem that combines certification with community and career development. Intelligent AF’s approach treats AI fluency as professional capital rather than a one-time course.

The company is also attempting to create a commercial network around that audience. Employers will be able to recruit from members whose capabilities have been verified through Informed AF certification, while sponsors and technology companies can reach the same professionals through education, events and media.

Its first acquisition reinforces that strategy. Intelligent AF has acquired TechnoCat LLC, the agency and production company founded by Casey. Financial terms were not disclosed. TechnoCat will become the foundation of Amplified AF, providing members with opportunities around speaking, advisory work and media exposure.

The acquisition is notable because AI is simultaneously making content production easier and increasing the importance of trusted professional voices. Legal professionals with demonstrable expertise in AI could become valuable to technology companies, law firms, conferences and media organizations looking for credible practitioners rather than generic AI commentary.

The potential market is substantial. The International Bar Association estimates that more than 20 million lawyers, paralegals and support staff work across the global legal profession, which directly contributes about $1.6 trillion to the global economy.

But scale alone does not guarantee a viable ecosystem. Intelligent AF will need to demonstrate that certifications translate into meaningful skills, that its community generates professional value and that employers recognize its credentials when making hiring decisions.

It also enters a market where established legal technology companies, bar associations, law firms, universities and professional organizations are developing their own AI training initiatives.

The company’s broader thesis is therefore less about teaching people how to use a particular AI tool and more about creating infrastructure around an AI-enabled legal career. That could become increasingly relevant as technology changes not only how lawyers perform tasks but also which capabilities employers value.

Thomson Reuters’ 2026 Future of Professionals research found that 24% of law-firm professionals would decline a job offer without access to professional-grade AI tools, while 77% of clients consider AI-enabled quality improvements important or essential from their legal providers.

Those numbers point toward a labor market where AI capability is becoming part of professional expectations. Intelligent AF is betting that the next stage will require an ecosystem around that capability—not just another software license or training course.

Market Landscape

Legal AI is moving from experimentation toward embedded workflows, creating demand for training, governance and professional development alongside technology. Wolters Kluwer reports that 92% of legal professionals now use at least one AI tool, while training and ethical concerns remain major adoption barriers.

The competitive environment includes legal AI vendors, law firms, universities, bar associations, professional networks and legal education providers. Intelligent AF is differentiating itself by combining several of those functions under one membership.

Its biggest test will be whether the ecosystem produces measurable career and business outcomes rather than simply aggregating services. Certification credibility, employer adoption and member engagement will determine whether AI fluency becomes a durable professional category.
